About Us

It’s been over 20 years since Kimberly Turner, a seasoned technical specialist has graced the halls of the National Institutes of Health. Her experience at NIH was formative, setting the tone for a career in Computer Information and Health systems. She enjoyed applying her creativity and innovative thinking in her role coordinating special projects and office operations for NIH Directorates. With an organization’s mission as her focus, Kimberly is a team player ready to assist the organization with achieving its goals.

After the first NIH chapter, Kimberly spent her time gaining rich knowledge in different environments spanning private industry, academia, and government support. She has designed databases to manage the allocation of team resources, created new technology prototypes, and developed inventory management systems. Kimberly’s enthusiasm to tackle technical problems is matched with her passion to advocate for young people, especially those with special needs.

Kimberly’s upbeat energy enabled her to conquer her own health challenges while she raised a daughter with autism, Tiffany.   As she reflected on what matters most, her path was leading her back to NIH. The NIH mission is synergistic with Kimberly’s calling to empower the special needs community to live a more productive, healthy life.

Kimberly finds absolute joy in providing young people, the health-challenged, or those living with disabilities that source of inspiration they need to live their best life.  It can be the information that they need to find a job, attend college or trade school or a comforting smile when she’s the Youth Counselor at church. Traveling is what sparks motivation for her daughter Tiffany as they have been to 24 states and 4 countries. 

Kimberly is ready to get started, “Today, I cannot wait to get reacquainted with the NIH experience and contribute my skills to help advance the NIH mission.”
